Training is something we take a lot of pride in here at Caeco Ranch. At the core of our program is a simple understanding—no two horses are the same. Every horse that comes through our gates is treated as an individual, and we take the time to listen, adjust, and respond to what each one needs in order to succeed.
Our approach is built on safety, trust, and mutual respect between horse and rider. We don’t rush the process. We move forward only when the horse is relaxed, understanding, and confident in what’s being asked, whether that’s groundwork or under saddle. By allowing the horse to learn at its own pace, we’re able to build a solid foundation that lasts.
We use proven methods inspired by respected horsemen such as Pat Parelli and John Lyons, along with the knowledge we’ve gained through years of experience, coaching, and hands-on work across multiple disciplines. That said, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all program—our job is to take what we know, apply it thoughtfully, and shape it around the horse in front of us.
Our program begins with foundational groundwork, round pen work, and clear cue development, then progresses into real-world exposure. Horses are introduced to trail environments including creeks, bridges, uneven terrain, and bush riding, along with everyday distractions like tarps, wind, dogs, bikes, and hikers. We also ensure each horse is comfortable with trailer loading and hauling.
By the end of the program, our goal is to produce a well-rounded, confident horse that is safe, reliable, and enjoyable for the average rider—whether that’s in the arena, out on the trail, or in the mountains.
At the end of the day, we’re not just training horses—we’re building partners you can trust.
