At the heart of Caeco Ranch is a love story, a dream, and a legacy that continues to shape everything we do today.
Chris and Eva fell in love young and were married within just six months—building a life rooted in partnership, adventure, and shared vision. Together, they embraced life fully, spending their years chasing experiences like hot-air ballooning, snowmobiling, and creating memories wherever they went. But through it all, one dream remained constant—Eva’s dream of building a horse ranch.
In 1999, that dream became reality when they purchased the land that would become Caeco Ranch. With their own hands, and the help of close friends, they built the main ranch house and barn from the ground up. Other pieces of the ranch—the stud barn, boarders tack house, mobile home, and garages—were carefully moved from their previous farm in High River, carrying history and heart into this new chapter.
Eva was known for her sharp wit and sudden, contagious laugh—qualities that filled the ranch with warmth and life. More than that, she passed down a deep love for horses, the land, and the lifestyle that comes with it, shaping not just the ranch, but the generations that followed.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Eva passed in October 2025. While her loss is deeply felt, her spirit remains woven into every part of Caeco Ranch.
Chris is still very much a part of ranch life today. You may catch him out and about on the skid steer or side-by-side helping with the occasional project, though these days he mostly enjoys spending his time focused on his passion for gunsmithing.
Today, Shannon and Bailee have stepped into management, carrying forward Eva’s vision with pride and purpose. With a deep respect for the ranch’s roots and a clear vision for its future, they are committed to continuing the legacy—building Caeco Ranch into something to be proud of for years to come.
