Caeco Ranch – Terms & Conditions

By engaging with Caeco Ranch services, including but not limited to lessons, boarding, training, transportation, clinics, and events, all clients, participants, and visitors agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Assumption of Risk & General Safety Policy
Horses are inherently unpredictable animals. Participation in any equine-related activity carries a risk of serious injury or death.
By entering Caeco Ranch property or participating in any activity, you acknowledge:
- You are voluntarily assuming all risks associated with equine activities
- You understand that horses may react unpredictably to sounds, movements, or unfamiliar environments
- You accept full responsibility for your own safety, your horse (if applicable), and any minors or guests in your care
All participants must:
- Follow all instructions given by Caeco Ranch staff
- Wear appropriate footwear (closed-toe, preferably boots) at all times
- Riders under 18 must wear a helmet (helmets strongly recommended for all riders)
- Conduct themselves in a respectful, safe, and controlled manner
Caeco Ranch reserves the right to remove any individual who is acting in an unsafe or disrespectful manner.
2. Compliance with Alberta Law
All services operate in accordance with:
- The Occupiers’ Liability Act
- The Animal Protection Act
- The Equine Liability Act (where applicable under Canadian law principles)
Under these laws, Caeco Ranch is not liable for injuries resulting from inherent risks of equine activities, except where required by law.
3. Payment & Refund Policy (General)
- All payments must be made in full unless otherwise agreed upon in writing
- Accepted methods: Cash, E-transfer, or other approved methods
Payment Schedule
- Recurring services (including but not limited to boarding, training, and lesson programs) are due on the 1st of each month
- One-time services (including but not limited to transportation/hauling, clinics, and events) are due on the first day of service unless otherwise agreed upon
Late Payments
- A $50 late fee will be applied to any payment not received by the due date
- If a client is late on payment more than twice, Caeco Ranch reserves the right to terminate services and/or contract immediately
Refunds & Missed Services
- No refunds on completed services
- Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
- Missed appointments or no-shows are non-refundable
Exceptions may be considered at the sole discretion of Caeco Ranch in cases of emergency.
4. Lessons & Clinics
Booking & Attendance
- Lessons are sold in blocks (e.g., 6 lessons) unless otherwise specified
- Lessons must be used within a reasonable timeframe (recommended within 8–10 weeks)
- 24 hours notice is required for cancellations
Cancellations
- Less than 24 hours notice = forfeited lesson
- Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled
Conduct & Safety
- Riders must follow instructor direction at all times
- Caeco Ranch reserves the right to refuse service if a rider is unsafe or unsuitable for the program
5. Training Services
- Training programs are customized per horse; results are not guaranteed
- Horses must be in sound health and disclose:
- Behavioral issues
- Medical conditions
- History of aggression or injury
Owner Responsibility
- Owners agree to full transparency regarding the horse’s history
- Caeco Ranch is not liable for:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Injuries resulting from undisclosed issues
Payments
- Training fees must be paid as agreed (monthly or per program)
- Late payments may result in suspension of services
6. Boarding Services
Board Payments
- Board is due monthly in advance
- Late payments may incur fees or termination of boarding agreement
Care Standards
Caeco Ranch agrees to provide:
- Feed, water, and general daily care
- Safe living conditions appropriate to board type
Owner Responsibilities
Boarders must:
- Ensure horses are in good health and up-to-date on:
- Vaccinations
- Deworming
- Farrier care
- Provide accurate emergency contact information
Veterinary & Emergency Care
- In case of emergency, Caeco Ranch may contact a veterinarian at the owner’s expense
- If the owner cannot be reached, consent is implied for necessary care
Liability
- Caeco Ranch is not responsible for:
- Injury, illness, or death due to natural causes
- Theft, loss, or damage to tack/equipment
7. Transportation / Hauling Services
- Horses must be safe to load, unload, and transport
- Owners must disclose:
- Kicking, loading issues, or dangerous behavior
Liability
- While all reasonable care is taken, transportation is at the owner’s risk
- Caeco Ranch is not liable for:
- Injury during transport due to horse behavior
- Delays caused by weather, road conditions, or unforeseen circumstances
Payments
- Hauling fees must be paid prior to or upon completion of service
8. Property Use & Visitors
All visitors must:
- Check in with staff upon arrival
- Not enter restricted areas
- Supervise children at all times
Dogs must be:
- Leashed or under strict control
- Non-aggressive and respectful of livestock
9. Damage & Conduct
Clients are responsible for:
- Any damage caused by themselves, their horse, or their guests
- Conduct that may disrupt ranch operations or endanger others
Caeco Ranch reserves the right to terminate services without refund if terms are violated.
10. Media Release
By being on the property, you consent to:
- Photos/videos being taken for promotional use
- Use of likeness on social media, website, and marketing materials
If you wish to opt out, written notice must be provided.
11. Termination of Services
Caeco Ranch reserves the right to terminate services at any time due to:
- Non-payment
- Unsafe behavior
- Breach of contract
- Misrepresentation of horse or rider
12. Agreement
By engaging in services with Caeco Ranch, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions
- You agree to abide by all policies outlined above
- You accept the inherent risks associated with equine activities
